About this opportunity
Help find local people who are interested in fundraising and then help them to run activities and build a fundraising group to support their local Strong and Social mental health group.
- Research effective fundraising strategies.
- Find interested community members
- Promote the Strong and Social fundraising activities
People with a background in marketing, events or PR and have had some interest in mental health would be ideal. However, we'd love to hear from anyone with an energy or passion to have a go and build their skills.
We want the Strong and Social network to be a long-term sustainable, model to support people who have experienced mental illness or mental distress.
The fundraising will be used to connect our Strong and Social network to their local communities and pay for the peer group leaders (people who have experienced mental illness, have recovered and want to help others) and the hall hire expenses. We need about $4,000 per year for each peer leader and about $1,000 for meeting spaces (although this varies and we can sometimes get free spaces).
People with an experience of mental illness are encouraged to apply.
A National Police Check and a Working With Children Check may be required if the project involves working directly with people unsupervised. One Door will pay for the Police Check if needed.
Approximately 12 hours per month, variable and negotiable. It's possible to do more or less. A long-term commitment would be great for us, but a limited project with particular goals would also be great. Everything counts!Suitable for
