About us: My Community Legal is an independent, not-for-profit community legal centre that provides free legal advice to Gold Coast community members in need. We receive no State or Federal Government funding but enjoy the support of numerous local partners.

We’re currently seeking a passionate Volunteer Grants Writer to join our team to assist in the grant proposal process. You must be available one day per week from 9am to 3pm.

About you: The successful candidate will preferably have experience in developing successful funding applications (preferable, not required). You will have an understanding of research grants, funding conditions and ethics requirements in a legal or academic setting or be willing to learn.

You will be passionate about presenting high quality work, have exceptional writing and editing skills. You will be willing to prepare grant submissions that showcase your ability to understand and present complex content in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

Duties: Your role would be working at the direction of the Treasurer. Primarily, you would be responsible for sourcing grants. You will then be responsible for preparing persuasive written submissions, fundraising grant materials and proposals. You will also be working towards sourcing donations from community funds, philanthropic organisations, and other corporations.
