Homework Club Volunteer

Education & Training Regular - more than 6 months Albion VIC

About this opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals with a passion for helping kids learn and build confidence.

Our homework club works with primary school aged children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in Sunshine, Albion and surrounding suburbs to support their learning and help build their confidence. We provide a safe and welcoming space to help students strengthen literacy and numeracy skills and build their connection to community.

We are looking for volunteers who can read with students, help with their homework, run games or activities (sport, art, music, science etc) or even just welcome students and help prepare healthy snacks.

Our homework club takes place ever Tuesday between 4 -5:30 during school terms at the Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House and Eco Living Center, set in the beautiful surrounds of our community garden in Selwyn Park.

This volunteer position would suit anyone with passion for, or interest in community and youth work or education. We provide training opportunities, ongoing support and a warm, friendly and inclusive working environment where your time and skills are welcomed and appreciated.

If you would any information on our organisation or to discuss volunteering opportunities, please get in touch with Gini at [email protected]

Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all staff, volunteers and participants. We are also a Child Safe organisation, all staff and volunteers must obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) before beginning work with our organisation. We can provide assistance with applying.

KCNH acknowledges the Peoples of the Kulin Nation as the traditional and continuing custodians of these lands and waterways.
