About this opportunity
Tasks include greeting and assisting visitors, handling & recording artwork sales, issuing receipts, recording financial and stock details, handling cash and EFTPOS, and responding to inquiries relating to membership, workshops, studio rental, exhibitions, special events and the artists’ shop. At present volunteers must also ensure the COVID regulations are followed, and assist with extra cleaning as required so we can remain open to the public. Benefits include learning about the arts, meeting artists and becoming part of the local arts community. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, opening hours are currently limited to Fri/Sat/Sun, 10 am – 4 pm but may be extended again in future. Most volunteers work one or two days per month. All volunteers must be members of the F Project but those who join through Volunteers Connect are offered complimentary membership for the first twelve months.
The primary qualification is an interest in the arts, and in supporting local artists. Verbal communication skills are also important as interaction with customers and visitors is encouraged. Accurate recording of sales and financial details is essential, and previous experience in any gallery, museum or specialist shop would be helpful.
