Magpies supporter in Mulgrave!

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Mulgrave VIC

About this opportunity

During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

John* enjoys watching cricket and the AFL (Collingwood supporter). He also likes fishing, exercising in his home gym, and working in his veggie garden. John* would be best suited to a positive, engaging and personable volunteer. Support and encourage John* to achieve his social goals and creatively reconnect with his interests.

Practical communication skills and a willingness to share home and community based visits are essential. Outings may include going for lunch or coffee whilst sharing in conversation. You will have a valid driver’s license and your own car to transport John* in during visits. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

*Participant's name has been altered to maintain his privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote AC-E-01. *Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with John and enable him to stay connected to the community.
