Retail Volunteer - Lawnton
About this opportunity
We are currently seeking volunteers to help with the assembling of our flat pack furniture items and with the ability to help set up the furniture displays etc on the showroom floor. If this is your forte... we would love you to come and help us out.
As a retail volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Many of our stores trade 7 days a week, so as little as 4 hours a week could make a huge impact.
Our retail volunteers perform a variety of tasks including:
- Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience
- Sorting and pricing donations
- Assisting with product displays
- Processing sales through the point of sale cash register
- Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices.
The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:
- Be a people person - welcoming, encouraging and positive
- Be flexible with working hours. Our stores are open 7 days per week and we are requiring a reliable team of volunteers to work together to share these hours.
- Be able to work shifts as per your availability between Monday to Sunday
- Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society, and
- Be respectful to others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team.
Knowledge and experience in front counter cash handling procedures, banking, opening and closing responsibilities preferred, however in-store coaching and training will be provided for those keen to learn.

National Police Certificate *. Others .
All volunteers must be complete a National Police Check before commencing with Vinnies, we will supply the paperwork.
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm Saturday and Sunday 9.00am to 4.00pm - as per availability URGENTLY seeking Team Leaders for Sunday and Monday Training will be given for the right volunteers seeking to Step Up and help make a difference in your local community!
