About this opportunity

Customer Service is a rewarding, and exciting experience and tends to be the first contact a passenger has with the PRR. Pichi Richi Railway is a professional organisation adhering to the various standards and rail safety rules. We have a wide variety of Customer Service roles throughout the organisation which include Passenger Attendants, Car Captains, Refreshments, Events and more.

PRR welcomes people from all walks of life, with or without skills and experience. We are a family friendly organisation. We are passionate about maintaining and keeping alive our heritage rail and it's Living History.

Ideally you will have experience in a service industry. You have a willingness to learn. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers at all times. Promptly responding to customer inquiries. Communicating with customers through various channels. Ability to acknowledge and resolve customer complaints. First Aid certification and training an advantage. An introductory orientation to the railway will be provided. Training and mentoring available.

* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
