Shelter Donation Sorting Volunteer

Animal Welfare Regular - more than 6 months Lonsdale SA

About this opportunity

As an organisation we are very fortunate to receive a wide variety of donations from the public, schools and local businesses.

Many of these items are delivered to our Lonsdale Shelter and are utilised within the organisation across a variety of departments which include our shelters, inspectorate, rescue, foster care, op shops and programs such as the 2019 Kangaroo Island Bushfire.

RSPCA South Australia are seeking volunteers who will be able to assist sorting through these donations, following guidelines ascertaining which department they are suitable for. Storing or transporting these items appropriately, communicating effectively with their team leader while participating as a valued team member.

We are also seeking volunteers who are able to go that step further once sorting is complete and check in with our volunteer laundry team to see if they need help finalising tasks.

Our Volunteer Program ensures each volunteer receives an induction to learn more about our entire organisation, the department they will be volunteering in and along with any operational procedures. Volunteers will be trained in the tasks they are expected to perform, receive ongoing support and continued communication throughout their experience with our organisation.
