MS Moonlight Walk Event Crew

Disability Services One off - an event West End QLD

About this opportunity

The Event: The MS Moonlight Walk has been a popular event on the Brisbane fundraising event scene over the last 20 years. Participants are able to choose between a distance of 3km, 5km, or 10km, with each course taking in the sights of Brisbane by moonlight. While it wasn’t able to run in 2020, we’re excited to see it back in early 2021, bringing together the wonderful Moonlight Walk community.

Date: Friday 26th March, 2021 Location: Davies Park, Montague Road, West End

The Roles: Our Event Day Crew member roles are many and varied – we have on course roles, such as course marshals and drink station assistants and event site roles, such as start line marshals and merchandise handlers.

Shifts are varied dependent on the exact role, however the event runs from 4:00pm – 10:00pm, so the shifts will be within this time frame.

The Organisation: The MS Moonlight Walk is a fundraising event run by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Queensland (MS Queensland). MS Queensland is a leading not-for-profit organisation, based in Brisbane, providing specialised services to benefit people living with MS and other chronic progressive neurological conditions (PND) throughout Queensland. We exist to help people living with MS to get the best out of life; to advocate for change and to search for a cure.

The money raised by the MS Moonlight Walk participants enables MS Queensland to provide critical programs and support for the increasing number of people diagnosed with MS. Together, with your support as a superstar volunteer for this event, we can ensure that no one has to face MS alone.

What we’re looking for in a volunteer: We’re looking for people who are friendly and approachable, who are always smiling and who are prepared to give our participants the best event experience ever. You must work well under pressure, be willing to take direction and be able to think on your feet. Speaking of feet, you will be standing on them for the duration of your shift, so you should be comfortable with this too.

We recommend that if you select an on course Event Crew Member role that you look to pair up with a friend – it’s always more fun with company on course.

COVID Safety: The safety of our participants, volunteers and staff is paramount and the event will operate under a COVID Safe Event Plan, which has been approved by Queensland Health. Full details will be provided to each volunteer on application.
