Responsibilities and Duties

As a camp or program volunteer you will be paired up with 2-3 children who you will be responsible for during the camp or program and the activities and outings that they do. All of our camps and programs are run by experienced facilitators but our leaders play an important role in developing meaningful relationships with the children, keeping them safe and helping them with everyday tasks.

This is a volunteer position, however we believe that the experience is invaluable in equipping people to be part of the community. During camps and programs all of your costs will be covered. Camp leaders who show great initiative and responsibility are often asked to join our staff in a paid role as a facilitator in the future.

Qualifications and Skills

There are no specific skills required because Cahoots provides comprehensive and very valuable training and mentoring. We do however, require that all of our volunteers have a WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK and a POLICE CLEARANCE (if you do not already have these documents, we can help you to get them) and that all volunteers attend one of our induction sessions.

Benefits

Volunteering on our camps or programs is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, have fun and get away from the stress of everyday life while making a positive contribution to the community and to the lives of people living with disability, their families, and careers.
