About this opportunity
Darling Range Wildlife Shelter is a volunteer and not for profit organisation based in Martin (which is just off the Tonkin Hwy between Gosnells and Roleystone). We work hard rescuing, treating and rehabilitating wildlife in need. Our goal is for their release back to their own environment. We really need gardening and maintenance volunteers who can help with weeding, watering and planting in our wildlife enclosures and general grounds. We have most equipment, but if you have a favorite pair of gardening gloves then please bring them along. You will need long trousers, sleeved shirts and a big hat. Our maintenance coordinator will give you an orientation and introduction to the role before you start. We are on the outskirts of Perth so coming across a snake is a definite possibility in the role. We provide morning and afternoon tea facilities so whatever day you are on it is generally expected that your shift will take a break and have opportunity to catch up.
Applicants will need to be reasonably fit and not afraid of the outdoors. Getting dirty is a real possibility so no fancy clothing. Protective clothing is a must.
The role would involve committing to either a morning (8.30am until 1.30pm )or afternoon (1pm until 5pm) any day of the week on a regular basis. One shift a week would be perfect :)Type of work
