Aged Care Activity Volunteer
About this opportunity
Juniper provides residential aged care across Western Australia. The role of the volunteer is to work alongside the Juniper Lifestyle coordinators and activity team.
It's more than helping prepare morning tea and playing bingo or joining in with crafts. What you'll be doing is really help break down the social isolation of the elderly participants by being a friendly soul, willing to have a chat and a laugh and help them keep mentally and physically active. You might be helping with memory groups, or activities to keep physical capacity under the guidance of the physiotherapist, which ever, you'll be making a real difference to the lives of of the participants.
Simple things such as helping our residents with crosswords can really assist them. Playing a musical instrument is loved by all.
Once through the application process, the facility manager will introduce you to the site, show you around and talk to you about the roles that might interest you. You'll not be put in a situation that is too difficult or troublesome for you - we aim to care for you as well as our residents.
