Centre-based Social Support | Ivanhoe

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Ivanhoe VIC

About this opportunity

During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Our Linlithgow centre seeks a dynamic and versatile volunteer who can commence over the phone and host Tombola (Italian bingo), quiz and friendship links, and make 1:1 phone calls to help ease social isolation! Once the centre is open again the volunteer will help host social activities as well as provide assistance in the kitchen. The role seeks an outgoing, enthusiastic applicant with a ‘can do’ attitude. The applicant will demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and the confidence to work independently to undertake tasks associated with the day to day operation of the centre. The selected applicant will be an effective communicator with an ability to create a positive interaction with all participants. Experience in group facilitation highly regarded. You will be provided with induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 & quote AT-OCT-71.
