About this opportunity
The Chinese Family Program delivers weekly playgroup sessions for Chinese speaking families living and/or working in the City of Monash. Established in 2002 this program provides culturally specific supports for Chinese speaking families, community education, family and individual parenting support, and a Chinese playgroup.
The volunteer role provides support and assistance to the playgroup parents in the delivery of the age appropriate playgroup activities. The playgroup activities are catered for the specific needs of preschoolers aged 0-5 years old, involving art/craft, storytelling, singing in Mandarin and other multi-linguistic language environment.
Mandarin-speaking ability, art craft skills, or singing and music backgrounds would be ideal for the playgroup volunteer role. Volunteering at playgroups will provide great opportunities for tertiary domestic or international students to gain placement and practical experiences of working with children and their families in Australian society. **Minimum one-year commitment required.

National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Mandarin-speaking ability. Minimum one-year commitment.
