Gallery Attendant Tanks (Volunteer)

About this opportunity

Our front of house volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day activities of the gallery space by interacting with the public and promoting the space, the artists, and the exhibition program. Volunteers will operate on a weekend roster, which includes a am-pm shift on Saturdays and Sundays, with an extended shift on the last Sunday of each month (am-2.30 pm) in line with the Tanks Market Days. We are asking that you commit to one shift per month.

Major roles and responsibilities are -

-Unlock the site gates, toilets and the Tank 4 Gallery on arrival and lock the site at the end of your shift -Turn on all lights and audio/visual equipment required by the current exhibition at the start of your shift and turn everything off at the end of your shift -Direct visitors and assist with inquiries -Communicate positively with others across different ages, backgrounds, cultures and -abilities -Handle the sales of artworks -Beware of specific workplace hazards/ note any particular hazards associated with the current exhibition


Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination .

Keen interest in the visual arts
Desire to expand knowledge and interact with art of different genres
Be well presented
