Unit Leader or Unit Helper - Joondalup Harmony Girl Guides

Young People Regular - more than 6 months Burns Beach WA

About this opportunity

Joondalup Harmony Girl Guides are seeking women to become Girl Guide Leaders at their Unit. The Unit meets for 1.5 hours on Monday evenings from 5.30pm to 7pm and caters for girls between the ages of 7 and 10. Girl Guide leaders are role models that provide support to young girls to help them discover their potential as young leaders of their world. This is one of the most rewarding and fun volunteering jobs around!

What do we do? Girl Guides WA aims to empower girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world.

What do Leaders do? Our Unit Leaders meet weekly with a group of girls aged 7 to 10 at the Bramston Park Community Centre. Meetings run for 1.5 hours. During the meeting you will help girls develop skills, positive values and confidence through fun activities. You will be supported by a Region Manager (also a volunteer), Volunteer Officer, Program Support Officer, and the team of other Leaders in the Region.

How do you become a Leader? Becoming a Leader involves becoming a member of Girl Guides WA and participating in training in emergency first aid and other leadership skills. We offer regular training by a qualified team.

Why should you get involved in Leadership at Girl Guides WA? Our Leaders and Unit Helpers report they have increased their all-round confidence and skills, experienced the joy of helping girls grow, made lifelong friendships, and had loads of fun! Women and girls have been part of this amazing organisation for over 100 years and we’re seeking fresh people to take us forward with our modern goals of empowerment, confidence, advocacy and making a difference.

No previous Guiding experience necessary.
