About the Role: No qualifications are required for general volunteering in the Food Share.
Necessary skills include: • A calm and respectful manner with members and other volunteers. • Maintain Food Share systems as they pertain to the distribution of food. • Ability to thrive in a team environment including taking instruction from the Food Share Coordinator. • An ability to drive the van (no special license required) to shop or collect donations is very useful but not essential
Main Tasks • Volunteers assist with the day to day running of the emergency food relief service. • Some Food Share Volunteers also assist with the collection of food from local donation organisations. • Monitor food product ‘used by dates’, ‘best before dates’ and refrigeration temperatures • Record information regarding clients accessing the food pantry • Work as part of a friendly team of staff and volunteers • Ensure Food Share Coordinator is kept informed of any issues or changes of availability in a timely manner • Commit to volunteering with the program at least once a week for a minimum of 6 months • Organise incoming donations
Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
IMPORTANT: Heathcote Food Share is currently seeking volunteers aged 18 - 35 in good health. You must comply with current infection control measures and maintain physical distancing in this role. A current police check and valid driver's license are an advantage.
Prefer 1 day per week, but hours are negotiable.Suitable for
