About this opportunity
Croydon Community Garden Team Member is for people who want to meet others and make friends. You can practice your skills in gardening or learn new skills. No prior knowledge is required, just a willingness to learn.
Being on the team can involve sowing seeds, planting seedlings, watering, cleaning, harvesting and anything else in consultation with the coordinator of the community garden.
Being on the team is a good opportunity to just wonder at all that our good and life-giving God has made and be thankful to him for all the gardens and diversity in plants that we have.
You can come and try it out for a morning and if you enjoy it then we would love for you to join our team.
* During the COVID-19 pandemic, organisations should be providing all necessary Covid-19 safety protection measures for volunteers following the advice of both the Sate or Territory Governments and the Federal Government. Your safety and wellbeing is your priority. Familiarise yourself with the most up-to-date requirements and advice from the Australian and NT and SA State Governments.
* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
