Various positions:

Homeless Regular - more than 6 months New South Wales NSW

About this opportunity

We have various positions available due to the widespread amount of projects we have incorporated into one. These vary from manual labor, to hosting workshops to helping at events. My Best Life Australia works very closely to a range of other organisations that are also helping to improve the world and therefore, the benefits of working with our organisation are substantial. Once the buses are able to be used as emergency accommodation you will see how much of an impact this project, and your hard work has had on the individuals receiving the buses lives.

As our project will be mainly labor intensive, we will be looking for tradesmen to help strip the buses out, help build essential features and to essentially help create it into a home for those in need. If you are/ have been a plumber, builder, electrician, carpenter, then we could be very much in need of your help with our construction element.

Communication officers:

Because we are a small charity, we will be needing volunteers to help spread the word about events, the charity itself, and to gain other volunteers help. This role will require contacting other charities, clubs and just general support of the project to gain a bigger interest. We will also be looking at sites for the buses to be positioned on so we will need head-strong, confident individuals to help put our foot in the door regarding locations available. At events held by our events manager it will be likely that we need other members of the project on site to help speak to those inquiring and boost the reputation of the charity.

Workshop Leaders:

We will be looking to interact with numerous other charities around Australia and therefore, we need volunteers to help run workshops such as art & dance therapy so anyone with previous experience in these areas, or who just generally enjoys the activities will be ideal. We are also hoping to hold workshops in schools regarding anti-bullying, positive relationships with ourselves, and other mental health workshops. These positions will need extra studying to ensure that the volunteers are educated to a high standard in this specific area.

Bus Drivers:

In the near future we will be receiving buses that are drive-able and will therefore, require qualified bus drivers who will be able to take the buses to specific locations throughout the day so that it can be used for emergency accommodation in the night. Previous experience required.
