Aged Care Support - Community Engagement

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - more than 6 months Caulfield North VIC

About this opportunity

Volunteers are required to support the work of this small facility providing hostel accommodation for the elderly people and catering for the individual. The aim of the volunteer program is to maintain community contact, to foster friendships and to increase opportunities for the residents.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who have a genuine kind and caring nature, who enjoy meaningful conversations and spending time with our Aged care residents.

They will assist Community Engagement with shopping trips, outings and going for coffee and cake – even a trip to Maccas (when allowed). Someone with understanding of dementia and if not, willing/wanting to learn about this so they can engage well with our dementia residents.

A bonus would be someone who could discuss travel experiences with residents and just generally be there for our residents.

Ongoing training offered.

The roles are Centrelink approved for eligible participants. Short term and out of business hours volunteering is available. Volunteers 18 years and over, volunteers with a disability or with limited English are welcome to apply. Police Checks required.
