About this opportunity
Happy to take someone still at school/uni, on the understanding that there is some teaching/mentoring from me, and also some productive work - the assignments can vary in complexity/difficulty to match your abilities, and help you to improve your skills over time.
The app has some features already, and we have a backlog of new features and enhancements we would like to add. There is plenty of scope to add your mark to our system and tune your development skills.
Back2bikes is based in Port Melbourne, we are open 6 days a week, and we have 8-12 volunteers who come and work with us every day. It is a relaxed work environment, we welcome all ages and abilities, we are inclusive with our volunteers, and appreciate everyones contributions to our cause.
You will work with Mike King, a senior software engineer, who will show you what needs to be done, and work with you to design solutions to each new feature as we add them. You can either work at our office, or you can do some of the work remotely to suit your own schedule.
If you are interested in bikes, we can offer access to tools and parts at discount prices. Longer term volunteers are eligible for a free 6 week bike maintenance course (worth $360).
