Social Welfare Visitors - Sunshine Coast / Ipswich / North Brisbane

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Across: Mapleton QLD, Coolum Beach QLD, Maroochydore QLD, Nambour QLD, Narangba QLD, Ipswich QLD

About this opportunity

Community Visitors play a vital role by providing much needed social support to those who may otherwise be isolated and lonely.

The role requires you to travel to the homes of a senior you have been paired with and provide them with company for 1.5 to 2 hours. What you do during this time is up to the two of you. A favourite activity is going for coffee, or to the beach.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can build a companionship and connection with one of our clients, sharing life experiences and common interests. Great communication skills, listening skills and patience are a must, along with being trusted with confidential information. Locations range from the Sunshine Coast, to North Brisbane and Ipswich.
