Community market garden and community co-op volunteer
About this opportunity
The aim is to give greater access of fresh locally grown vegetables to the community. We also sell basic pantry items from the co-op The main tasks are planting new vegetables and herbs, maintenance and harvesting of vegetables for the co-op; and staffing the co-op. The market farm and community co-op will also contribute to new and exciting weekly cooking classes at Burnie Community House for adults during school hours and for kids during school holidays. Volunteering can be very rewarding - not only can you take some vegetables home with you - we expect it. You will meet some great people along the way. Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.
Someone who enjoys gardening and being outside, or supporting a co-operative stall.
An average of two up to ten hours per week depending how much time you can spare and due to the seasons
