Community Visitor - Home Visit, Nepalese speaking

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Salisbury Park SA

About this opportunity

We would like to recruit a Nepalese volunteer for Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) Home visit service! A female Nepalese speaking volunteer is needed to visit an elderly person in the client's home in Salisbury area who is lonely and isolated because she has different culture and language. As a community visitor, you add to the client's quality of life by being a companion and friend. We look at things like the client and your background, interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes, languages spoken and so on when we match.

Community Visitors visit at least 10 visits for six months (Jan-June, July-Dec). Your visit may include reading, chatting, doing crosswords, reminiscing, watching a favourite TV programs, or listening to music. If the client is able to, she might like to take a walk in the garden. The activities you undertake will depend on their interests and health.

If you would like to enrich the quality of someone else’s life by making a friendly visit to them, we would love to hear from you. For many people it will be a great joy to speak to someone in their own language!
