About this opportunity
Looking for a helpful, kind and sociable activity assistant volunteer to join the Leisure and Lifestyle team to encourage the independence and improve the holistic wellbeing of the residents of an aged care facility in Ballina. Activities may include art and craft sessions, men’s shed, playing poker or scrabble, reading the newspaper, cooking, exercise/walking groups and assisting the leisure and lifestyle team transport residents to activities. The role of the activities assistant is a highly rewarding experience that enables individuals to participate in making a positive difference in the lives of older people. Hours and days are flexible to suit the volunteer, a minimum of 1-3 hours a week and 6-month commitment is requested. We would love to speak to anyone interested in this volunteering opportunity.
