Volunteer Street Outreach/Homeless Support Worker (Toowoomba)
About this opportunity
The Street Outreach Service operates in and around Toowoomba CBD providing harm minimisation, support, information, referrals and crisis intervention to individuals who may be homeless on the streets or otherwise at risk. The patrols are staffed by trained volunteers and provide drinks and snacks, emotional support where required, transport where young people are otherwise at risk, information on a wide range of issues and available services, information on issues regarding health, social or lifestyle issues, alcohol and other drugs and referrals and connections to other professional agencies. Support is provided by teams of trained and supported volunteers. This service operates of an evening Monday - Friday.
*Training for this intake will be 10th February 2021
Additional requirements
Driver's Licence (C) . Working with Children Check *.
You will need to apply for a Blue Card which we can assist with so there is no cost to you.
Monday - Friday 7pm - 10pm
