Safe Pets Safe Families are looking for a Foster Care Coordinator. This position is voluntary. You will be the coordinator and first point of contact for all fosters within the Safe Pets Safe Families organisation. You will be required to liaise with the Case Manager Coordinator and Case managers to arrange suitable care for each animal that comes into our organisation. You will also be required to report to the Chief Executive Officer and meet with the resident counselor on a regular basis. Responsibilities: • Processing and onboarding new foster carer applicants including contacting referees, organising yard checks, updating our foster database and providing the relevant resources and training. • Recruitment of new foster carers to the group • Contacting existing foster carers that have not been active for some time to see if they would still like to be on our database and obtain feedback on how we can improve • Maintain private Foster Carer groups including posting positive stories, welcomes, thank you posts • Assist carers to resolve any difficulties or concerns they have with fostering or the group in general • Maintain our foster care database, updating with any relevant info about pets in the home, changes in circumstances or address, or information about any incidents with foster animals (ie; after an incident it has been confirmed that resident dog does not like female dogs) • Provide regular reports to the CEO (weekly) and the board (monthly) or as requested • Assist with ongoing training of foster carers as required, including sharing process updates • Assisting the volunteer co-ordinator with onboarding new volunteers in peak times or if they are on personal leave.

Additional requirements

National Police Certificate *.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build rapport and engage volunteers and fosters
• Warm and professional verbal and written communication style
• Previous experience managing/coordinating a large team of volunteers or staff is preferred
• Ability to resolve conflicts and workplace issues
• Good time management and organisational and ability to prioritize urgent tasks
• High level attention to detail and excellent record keeping
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Drive and social media
• Must be tech savvy – we will be using SharePoint, social media, teams and other systems and you will be required to either navigate or teach others how to use as part of your role
• Team Player – you will work closely with other volunteers including the management team and other coordinators, so it is important that you work well in a team
• We are seeking someone who is outgoing, friendly and able to connect well with others – you will be the face of SPSF for new foster carers so it is about ensuring they have a great experience and feel welcome
