Digital Mentor
About this opportunity
We are seeking volunteer mentors to assist learners over the age of 50 to become digital literate. Inspire learners one-on-one or in a small group to get online and develop digital skills. Learners will range in their skills from having no prior experience to intermediate. Possible topics may include: - What is a computer? - What is the internet - How to use a keyboard - Safe passwords - Paying safely online - Using the internet - How to use Skype
Students face different barriers to accessing digital devices. Some are scared of using a computer while others may find it challenging or have limited access to one. It is important that you, as a mentor, are aware of these barriers and have a lot of patience and offer support to the learner.

As a mentor you have flexibility to arrange mentoring session according to your schedule, from a few hours each month to more frequently.

You will receive an induction, including online training. Learning materials are available for you to use, including a range of videos and online exercises.
