About this opportunity
As this role is to provide telephone support to parents calling the service about their child's drug or alcohol use, you MUST be a parent of a child who has, or has had, a drug or alcohol addiction and thus have the knowledge of what it is like to have been through tough times and not knowing where to get information and support.
Through your experience, you will have the ability to mentor other parents on how to deal with the loneliness, isolation, stigma and shame, and the constant worry of not knowing where their child is, as well as the financial burden of paying for treatment or paying off dealers.
