About this opportunity
About the organisation:
Furry Friends ARQ is a not-for-profit organisation located in SEQ dedicated to minimising the large number of companion animals killed every year in pounds and shelters; and to educate people about the benefits of responsible pet ownership. Unlike traditional shelter models, Furry Friends ARQ is wholly virtual, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.
Opportunities for volunteers:
This is an exciting time to join our community driven organisation as we are currently in a phase of growth. As such, we are seeking passionate volunteers located not only in SEQ but also throughout Australia, who are wanting to use their skills to make a direct and positive impact on the lives of homeless pets. We recognise that we are only as strong as our dedicated people and are looking for committed volunteers to assist in growing our organisation and driving our mission forward.
To thrive at Furry Friends ARQ, you will have a strong sense of role ownership and will be persistent and resilient by nature; the initiative to multi-task and work with minimal supervision; and drive to delve into/understand the core functions of your role. You will also be a creative thinker; favouring an active approach to problem solving, including ways to work smarter.
What we offer:
This is a great opportunity for personal and professional growth and fulfilment through teamwork in effective companion animal management. This is also an opportunity to work and collaborate within a virtual team environment; engage with multiple stakeholders; and to sharpen your skills and put your individual stamp on the role. At Furry Friends ARQ we encourage volunteer involvement; recognise individual contribution; and support the expansion of roles to utilise the talents and abilities of our volunteers.
