Reading Together Volunteer
About this opportunity
The reading volunteer will actively engage with identified vulnerable primary school children to help improve their literacy skills through reading together. The role will develop positive and constructive relationships in order to encourage improvement of the childrens’ reading, comprehension, vocabulary and oral language skills.
The reading volunteer role will provide supplementary educational support for young children who are developmentally at risk. This role will play a vital role in the childrens’ lives by enhancing their engagement with an encouraging learning environment and by building positive relationships in the local community.

Please Note: As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the level of coverage for volunteers due to various restrictions to ensure they are covered for the roles they will be undertaking.
Minimum of an hour a week, working alongside 3 children in that time.
