The availability of this position is currently impacted by Covid-19. This may cause a delay in our response to your application. The Caring Neighborhood Program (CNP) are currently seeking Volunteer Drivers and Hosts for the Group Program.
CNP organises six lunch groups per month. Different venues are chosen throughout the Fleurieu based on value, service and accommodating our larger group needs including Old School Building in Victor Harbor; Carrickalinga House; and City of Victor Harbor Library.
Your role includes driving your own car and/or the 10 seater van to transport people for lunch program/s and fostering a friendly and inclusive environment to enable social connections between those in the group.
Other Key tasks (may include):
• Phoning attendees of the Group Program to arrange time for pick up.
• Build rapport and support any specific needs of the attendees at the group • Collecting transport and/or program money • Keeping a record of attendees • At lunches, assist participants to choose lunch and order for a small group • Socialise with group during program ensuring that everyone is included in the discussions • Informing CNP staff of any cancellations, issues or incidents at the program • Organise morning/afternoon tea for the session (where required) • Log time and expenses each month using the form provided. • Attend mandatory training and any other specified training opportunities • Attend regular meetings to contribute ideas and feedback about the program and its activities
Any out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . Medical Check *. National Police Certificate *. Traffic Check *.
Current Police Screening (this can be arranged through the CNP coordinator after an interview, and will be updated when required).
Hold a relevant South Australian drivers licence.
Provide a Medical Clearance to drive, signed by a medical practitioner.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Attend CNP and City of Victor Harbor Induction training.
Attend mandatory training every 2 years including – Driver Accreditation (if required to drive larger vehicles), Driver Awareness, Manual Handling Training
Be interested in people who are unable to maintain social connections.
Be empathetic of clients issues and needs.
Committed yet flexible.
Respect differences in cultures, abilities and backgrounds.
Able to work as part of a team and be a good listener.
City of Victor Harbor has now endorsed a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and this requires all workers recruited after commencement of the policy to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, before commencement with Council, and states that workers will be required to maintain their full vaccination status for the term of their role with Council.
