About this opportunity

Embark on a extraordinary role as you present activities at our close knit observatory. Knowledge of astronomy is not essential in this unique role as this will be covered in training. All you need is great communication skills and a smile!

Your role: • Set up the activity • Welcome individual groups as they arrive • Engage in the activity with each group covering specified curriculum areas and providing assistance as necessary • Monitor activity and discuss concepts • Be able to extend the activity if it finishes early • Pack away equipment after use and report if anything needs replacing

It is essential you have a driver's licence to travel to our centre as there isn’t any public transport to the Observatory in Bickley.


Additional requirements

Driver's Licence (C) . Working with Children Check *.

• Previous work with children, although not essential
• Able to communicate at the children’s level
• Able to maintain control of the group
• Able to adjust the activity if necessary

Time Required

Minimum of 2 tours per month, initial training may be weekly Tours: as scheduled during the school term
