HR Specialist (Recruitment)

About this opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform recruitment activities e.g. research role requirements, draft and review position descriptions and job ads, post and market job ads, review and shortlist applications, and interview candidates to make recommendations to line managers.
  • Manage recruitment channels to attract suitably qualified candidates
  • Perform employment activities up to onboarding, such as conducting the onboarding briefing
  • Perform exit procedures for volunteers who are leaving or transferring to other divisions.
  • Reporting to management as required e.g. recruitment statistics
  • Any other HR tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the HR Coordinator

Commitment Required

This role requires at least 3-5 hours per week (including a weekly or fortnightly meeting with the HR team in the evenings after work) for a minimum commitment of 6 months. Working hours are flexible as long as you manage your time well. However, responsiveness to both organisational needs as well as candidates is crucial in order to attract and recruit selected talent.

Key Experience and Skills

  • Proactive and able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

  • This opportunity is open to residents of SE Queensland.
  • Minimum Cert IV or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Experience in a HR generalist role, but with proven experience in recruitment
  • Experience with Google Suite highly preferred
