Foodbank SA is a non-denominational social enterprise that was founded 20 years ago and acts as a food pantry to charities and community groups who feed the hungry in South Australia. Foodbank is an intermediary between the food industry's surplus food and the welfare sectors needs.
We seek experienced truck drivers to collect donated food and groceries from donor companies and/or deliveries to welfare agencies.
Driver's Licence (HR) . Driver's Licence (MR) . National Police Certificate *.
*Several experienced truck drivers are required with a current Heavy Vehicle licence.
*A friendly manner, good communication skills together with neat appearance with good customer service ability.
*Some manual handling will be required, so the successful volunteers would need to be physically sound.
*A National Police check clearance working with vulnerable groups is required or a willingness to obtain one.
* During the Covid-19 pandemics, organisations should be providing all necessary Covid-19 safety protection measures for volunteers following the advice of both the Sate or Territory Governments and the Federal Government. Your safety and wellbeing is your priority. Familiarise yourself with the most up-to-date requirements and advice from the Australian and NT and SA State Governments.
* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
One day/week (Mon to Fri) Hours preferred are 8am - 2pm with some flexibility.Suitable for

Induction and organisation training but should be an established/experienced HV or MR Lic. driver.
