Community Connections - Friendship Buddy (North of the river)
About this opportunity
Silver Chain has been helping people to remain healthy and happy at home; our purpose is to build community capacity to optimise health and wellbeing. Become a buddy to one of our clients in our programme. You will be matched with a person and help them choose how they want to reconnect with their community.
Duties
- visiting elderly clients in the community once a week
- befriending a client
- supporting clients to find/attend activities in the community
This is a great opportunity for those passionate about working with the elderly community. Comprehensive training and support will be provided.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.
Volunteers need to be compassionate, empathetic, self-aware and have the ability to make social connections in your local community for people who may be experiencing loneliness
Availability for two hours a week
Access to a road worthy vehicle
Once a week for two hours, for a minimum commitment period of 6 months
