Safe Pets Safe Families is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator. This is a volunteer position. Your role is to be the first port of call for the volunteers of the organisation and is required to oversee the goings on of the volunteers. You will report to the CEO and meet with the Counsellor on a regular basis. Responsibilities: • Processing and onboarding new volunteer applicants, updating our volunteer database and providing the relevant resources and training. • Recruitment of new volunteers to the group • Conducting working with Children/Volunteer checks to ensure we meet our compliance obligations • Contacting existing volunteers that have not been active for some time to see if they would still like to be on our database and obtain feedback on how we can improve • Maintain our private Volunteer Facebook page including posting positive stories, welcomes, thank you posts • Assist volunteers to resolve any difficulties or concerns they have with fostering or the group in general • Maintain our volunteer database, updating with any relevant info about changes in circumstances or address, or information that might be helpful ie; volunteer is not able to lift heavy items due to injury, or volunteer prefers to do a certain kind of work • Provide regular reports to the CEO (weekly) and the board (monthly) or as requested • Assist with ongoing training of new and existing volunteers as required, including sharing process updates • Assisting the foster care coordinator with onboarding new fosters during peak times or if they are on personal leave.

Requirements:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build rapport and engage volunteers and fosters
• Warm and professional verbal and written communication style
• Previous experience managing/coordinating a large team of volunteers or staff is preferred
• Ability to resolve conflicts and workplace issues
• Good time management and organisational and ability to prioritize urgent tasks
• High level attention to detail and excellent record keeping
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Drive and social media
• Must be tech savvy – we will be using SharePoint, social media, teams and other systems and you will be required to either navigate or teach others how to use as part of your role
• Team Player – you will work closely with other volunteers including the management team and other coordinators, so it is important that you work well in a team
• We are seeking someone who is outgoing, friendly and able to connect well with others – you will be the face of SPSF for new volunteers so it is about ensuring they have a great experience and feel welcome
