FREE Volunteer Training in Dementia and Delirium Care

About this opportunity

Volunteers are welcome to apply to attend two training days to be confirmed mid January which will give them the skills they need to support a person who is confused, has dementia or delirium in a hospital setting.

The idea of the course is to build a volunteer program where there will be onsite assistance for confused older persons in the hospital setting at Maitland, Kurri Kurri and Cessnock.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided and course notes, speakers etc are included.

Registered volunteers who would like to continue in the hospital system providing assistance will be issued with a t-shirt ($10 deposit required) and access to tools provided (terms and conditions apply).

Additional requirements

National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.

Additional paperwork and registration requirements should you wish to use you wish to use your new skills in the health setting. You should be able to provide a day a week if you would like to become a regular volunteer.

A NSW Police Check and other paperwork are prerequists of volunteering at Hunter New England Health.
