About this opportunity
A hairdresser is sought to visit a hospital each week to cut and sometimes set patients' hair whilst in hospital or rehabilitation. Many of the patients have been in hospital for weeks or have been at home and not able to go to the hairdresser, so they really appreciate the opportunity to look and feel better with a haircut. If you can do cosmetic care, that would be an added bonus!
An advanced level of spoken English is required.

What seems such a small thing for a hairdresser to offer, can mean so much to a patient who has been unwell. Its often the little things like this that can make the biggest difference to how they feel emotionally. Volunteers have the opportunity of developing wonderful friendships with fellow volunteers.

National Police Certificate *.
Mandatory Requirements for volunteers working in Health.
• Police check
• NSW Health Immunisation compliance
o Category A: working in clinical areas- (Covid x3, Flu Vax,Hep B, DtpA, MMR).
o Category B: working in Admin non clinical: (CoVid x 3 and Flu Vax)
• References x 2 (not family or friends)
• Mandatory training: ELearning and 2 day face to face training to prepare volunteer to work safely in a health care environment.
WWCC for volunteers working in the Community
2-4 hours pw between10am-5pm flexible weekdays

All people who volunteer their time are required to do the training program which will give them the confidence to work in a health facility. You will be mentored in your role until you feel comfortable and confident with this position.
