Wildlife Carer

Animal Welfare Regular - more than 6 months Across: Canberra ACT, Canberra ACT

About this opportunity

ACT Wildlife requires wildlife carers to assist with the care of compromised native animals in the ACT. You would need to live in the ACT, have time and preferably have a garden where an aviary can be erected. New carers are trained in the care of all species found in the ACT. An Orientation session initially gives you information about how we work as an organisation and in the community, and what you will need to become a carer. This is followed by species training throughout the year.

All ages are suitable: would suit retired people who may have more time, but everyone is welcome. Children will need to be supervised by trained parent. Your commitment can be flexible depending on your circumstances and you will mainly be working at home.

This is a great way to learn more about native animals
