About this opportunity
Vinnies offers opportunities for members of the community to give their time, talents and other skills to assist the less fortunate members of our community by volunteering to work in Vinnies Shops. Volunteers assist in the Vinnies shops to provide affordable clothing, furniture and other items at affordable prices. Volunteers will assist with sorting clothes, books, bric-a brac and presentation. Volunteers are also required to serve customers and assist with collection of donated goods. Storage and packaging of food will also be required. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with others, to meet Centrelink requirements by volunteering, gain additional work experience in retail and improve English skills. No experience is necessary and full training and on the job support is provided by Vinnies staff /volunteers. By volunteering in our shop you can be sure you’re making a difference to people in need. For many volunteers, this is a chance to give something back to the community and to use their skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of people who need assistance the most.
Currently, looking for volunteers who can work Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *.
A Police Check will be required prior to commencement. This is paid for and organised by the Society when a Volunteer Application Form is received.
Be able to show empathy and respect towards others.
Be open minded and non-judgemental.
Be able to relate to and accept people from various backgrounds.
Be able to work as a team with other volunteers and staff.
Currently need volunteers who can work on Thursdays and Friday during the afternoon shift.
