About this opportunity

Back2Bikes is seeking volunteers to assist in our bicycle recycling activities. Our hours are 10am-4pm Monday -Saturday and we recommend you start around 10am in order to get the full benefits of volunteering. As a non profit bicycle recycler our aim is both to recycle bikes and further the skills of our volunteers. We do not expect our volunteers to start with a comprehensive knowledge of bicycle repair skills but the following skills and interests would be a advantageous:- • A love of cycling whether for commuting or recreation. • Basic knowledge of bicycle repair or some mechanical aptitude or background. • Ability to work with others in a cooperative environment. • A willingness to learn to increase you knowledge by trial and error and asking questions while also assisting others when called upon. • An understanding that other volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and that you must respect social, cultural and gender diversity.

Time Required

10am - 4pm one to two days per week or shorter by agreement

We'll give you guidance, and time to practice on (non-customer) bikes. We have lots of patience, so you can learn at your own pace.

Reimbursement

No pay, but we do provide a free lunch. Long term volunteers can buy parts at a discount.
