Gardening Volunteer
About this opportunity
This role will involve hands on work within a small team of volunteers focusing on developing and maintaining the established Sensory Garden at Reynard Street Neighbourhood House and the Community Garden in the adjoining Robinson Reserve.
Key Responsibilities • Tasks include planting, watering, weeding, mulching, harvesting produce • Checking and maintaining compost bins • Communicating clearly with other volunteers and staff • Cleaning, tidying and storing equipment after use
Required Skills/Attributes:
• Some gardening experience (does not have to be professional) or an interest in learning • Ability to listen to and follow instructions when necessary • Interest in working within a diverse group of people • Understanding of safe work practices • Ability to work outdoors and use manual garden tools • Reliable

As playgroups operate at the neighbourhood during the week, all volunteers are required to hold a current Working with Children Check. This check is free for volunteers and we are able to assist you with the process if required.
