Aged Care Volunteer Visitor's Scheme (ACVVS) volunteers make regular, relaxed social visits and provide companionship and friendship to residents of aged care facilities or older people living in their own homes. Volunteers are matched one-on-one with a participant or run small groups in aged care facilities with residents who share common interests. Pets of Older Persons (POOP's WA) is an incorporated non-profit association staffed entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers provide a range of services including home visits, animal feeding, dog walking and transport to/from vet clinics or boarding kennels. POOP's cater specifically for people over 65 years of age - or palliative-care patients of any age - who have no relatives or friends willing or able to take responsibility for their pets in times of need.
