Fishability is a West Australian not for profit organisation who works with the community to promote fishing activities as a means of acceptance and inclusion with provision of inclusive and disability programs. Companionship required for our client living with a disability We are looking for someone who is reliable and has empathy and understanding of people with a disability. A positive attitude with sound communication and listening skills is essential.

The group leader provides communication opportunity for people who have experienced a stroke or brain injury. For many members of the group, this is their only experience to communicate with a person who understands their difficulty, is genuinely interested in their opinions, and is prepared to help them find a way to express themselves. The role facilitates interaction practise between each member and the leader, as well as between all group members.

People living with neurological conditions often benefit from organised support that is led by people who have similar health conditions and experiences managing their health. Peer support groups connect people within a safe space empowering them to take control of their health and wellbeing. We are seeking people with lived experience of neurological conditions to train and act as voluntary peer support group leaders in selected metro and regional areas or within your local community.

The helpline was established in 2009, and is the only such service in Australia helping people living with pain. Guides have a personal connection to chronic pain and are able to support callers with chronic pain.
