Our Community Shed is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support people of various capabilities to learn and engage in basic woodwork, carpentry and other activities.

W are currently welcoming volunteers to visit a Serbian lady living in an Aged Care. This resident would love to receive social visits with people who speak and are familiar with the Serbian culture.

Our Social Connections Program supports people aged over 65 to get back to the things they love.

SisterWorks is a partner of UN Women, to deliver UN Women’ Second Chance Education pilot project in Australia. SisterWorks provides training programs to the most vulnerable women with little English of refugee and migrant backgrounds. As a Sewing Teacher, you will be working in the SisterWorks design lab, empowering women by coordinating their sewing classes and teaching new skills.

Mernda Repair Café will be the first community Repair Program for the community of Whittlesea hosted at the Mernda Community House and outdoor community space. It is a free, inclusive and cross cultural community event that offers repairs of personal items by volunteer Repairers. The position purpose is to Photo document the event, the community and the fun on day. We want to capture the wins for the day and celebrate our volunteer Repairers, Event workers, coffee van crew and the community.
