An opportunity for those who love model/miniature railways. We have a 7 ¼” gauge railway around the grounds that is available to visitors most days we are open. We have 3 locomotives (Steam, petrol, hydraulic). We are looking for someone who will be a practical leading-hand for this museum activity: From driving to track-work. The line has opportunities for development and a range of projects are possible with the right person to take the lead.

Pearn's Steam World has one of the best collection of agricultural steam engines, tractors and other farming artifacts in Australia. These need maintenance, preservation, restoration, or rebuilding depending on their condition. We welcome anyone with the skills and/or aptitude to join the team who care for the collection. The collection ranges from large steam engines to small items such as hand-cranked seeders and butter churns.

Welcoming visitors to the museum, collecting the entry fee, giving a brief outline of the museum and its layout, selling items from the shop. Opening and closing the museum. Other opportunities include: Driving the miniature train, assisting in the museum's administration, and researching the stories behind the objects.

We are needing volunteers for the Tasmanian State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition, to be held at the Tailrace Centre. No experience necessary, just a whole lot of fun, meeting amazing people in a unique environment. This is a very diverse and inclusive event for all ages. The Tasmanian Sail Training Association is seeking new volunteer members to learn tall ship sailing on Tasmania’s iconic waterways.

The Lady Nelson needs cooks to prepare food on everything from day sails through to multiday voyages.

Volunteer position available for Treasurer to maintain financial records for the Launceston Tramway Museum Society Inc and provide reports to the committee.
