- While cleaning, changing feed/water, be hands-on, interacting and playing with our parrots at our bird sanctuary we have nearly 400 parrots. Work in a passionate joyful environment where the care and well-being of our parrots is our number one concern - Earn Certificates and use them when searching for a job - Receive a reference after working here for a designated period of time - Work hands-on with parrots, interacting, talking and handling our parrots during your work time

AVIARY ATTENDANTS - Cleaning and feeding the birds, interacting with the birds checking their health and wellbeing, collecting and cleaning food dishes. We are looking for at least 3 Aviary attendants. On the job training given. . For those who are doing animal studies this is a great hands on experience with achievement certificates available. Mature persons and retirees welcome. Our sanctuary is a Centrelink and Work for the Dole approved workplace.

The volunteers assist riders with leading horses or walking along side riders/horses during their classes. All classes are designed and controlled by our qualified coach. This volunteer position exists at our sanctuary, working closely with SAHA staff. This position involves daily feeding/cleaning, as well as providing essential care and enrichment for the horses at our sanctuary.

You do not need to have horse experience to volunteer at APRDA but you could pick up some horse experience by volunteering with us. We are seeking people to assist us with our horse based activities. A great opportunity to help a great cause and get some exercise. A level of fitness is essential as you can be required to stand and walk for up to 1 hour in lessons. Each rider has a volunteer leading their horse and most will have at least one side walker in support. (C)
