MDFA's Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

The volunteers will carry out a range of activities designed to support patients and their visitors during their stay at the hospital. The skilled volunteer will diagnose injuries and provide rehab advice to patients whilst at the Rugby Club. The volunteer will also advise coaches if/when a player can return to action.
