Friends of the Ngoolyak is a group of environmental volunteers based at Piney Lakes Reserve, who study the lifecycle of flora, collect, process, and germinate seeds for planting in the Reserve. Are you a well organised person who has a passion for the environment? The Helena River Catchment Group undertakes landcare and river rehabilitation projects on the Helena River and throughout the catchment. The small group of active volunteers is currently recruiting new members to build capacity for more landcare projects and to fill committee roles, particularly for the position of Secretary.

They’re also vital to tackling the decline in biodiversity as well. Unfortunately, only 5% of Australia’s Wetlands remain – it’s time to invest in nature-based solutions to these challenges.

Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group, SERAG, is a local group of volunteers who enjoy hands-on caring and restoring health to the A-Class foreshore and bush reserves adjacent to the Swan River Estuary Marine Park on Melville’s river front in Attadale, Alfred Cove and Tompkins Park. Volunteers will weed and/or plant for two hours of a morning, then share a cuppa and cake together (provided) whilst enjoying the beautiful location that they are helping to restore and maintain.
